"I never, as a nurse, could have dreamed what the horror of walking into the ER would be to see a code being performed on my own child," notes Dee Ryan, the mother of Aslyn Ryan, 1, who had been left in a car while her babysitter ran errands. Aslyn is one of 443 children to die in a hot vehicle after being left in it by a caregiver.

While a few of these children, like "The Intimidator" are memorialized in some way, most are merely a statistic or news story. And everyone is left asking "How could this happen?" and "How do we prevent it?"
